|
|
Alright, in the last week, a website (no need to link as they already got enough attention for their accusations) has directly attacked the credibility of Gekko. Normally we wouldn't care so much of what others think but they went to such trouble to get their point accross that we feel we have to respond.
No, this does not mean a release. (They would like that, wouldn't they? ) But my buddy Knuckles who is also a betatester of Gekko decided to make a little video for you guys.
Click here! (Right-click --> Save target as...)
I hope you enjoy what you see. The video speed isn't the real speed the game would be going. It's slower due to Hypercam running over it (and using some of the CPU). The video is encoded in xvid. You will need this decoder installed in order to be able to watch the video.
There are a lot more pictures and informations in the N'Sider section.

That video is a nice documentary about gekko! It shows all features and the game itself how it would look like! This video is the best response for those guys who called gekko a fake |

| The worst Exo is that we didnt even have any settings before and I would keep telling him to add that. It took forever before shizZy finally decided to add a toggle for wireframe... and thats all he came up with -_- |

Well, I've used hypercam before. It honestly, unlike camtasia, takes such little CPU, that I'd be surprised in a 2 FPS drop. SO, unless you altered the speed of your video after recording it should be normal speed, based on just a couple of guess'.
1. HC doesn't use much CPU, as I said previously. 2FPS would be a surprise.
2. The mouse in the video, although not smooth like a normal movement, is not terribly choppy. Should HC use as much as you say, and w/ the Gekko taking up so much, that mouse should be way all over the screen.
Anyway, my guess is between 15 and 25 FPS is what it's running. Anyhow, great emu, and good luck.
~ EDIT ~
On a another part that I just remembered, my pc is a 1.66Ghz Intel Pentium i386 PC that only drops 2FPS. Yours is a whackload bigger than mine. And, I just realized that, on a 60hz monitor, you only recorded every fourth frame (15FPS), and it was rather smooth. If you ask me, I think the emu is prolly coming along great. Ooooohhhh, it's like waiting for christmas.... or PJ64 1.7... |
